Oyo State indigenes have been urged to
participate in a fully funded master’s scholarship
programme initiated by the British Government.
The Deputy Head of the Political Section of the
British High Commission Dr. Andrew Fleming
made the call in Ibadan during a courtesy visit to
the Oyo State Governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
Dr. Fleming said the British Government was
ready to partner Oyo state in the areas of
Education, Agriculture, Security and Health to
improve the general well being of the state.
He expressed confidence in the ability of the Oyo
state government to make a difference in
education describibg the state as the bedrock of
learning having boast of the first University in
Nigeria.
In his response, the State Governor Senator
Abiola Ajimobi who was represented by his
Deputy Otunba Moses Adeyemo called on the
British investors to see Oyo state as investors
first choice while assuring them of adequate
security and good road network.
